The ad I chose was for Smirnoff Vodka. In this ad it shows a bottle of Smirnoff Vodka, and next to the bottle it has lines going down to get the effect of a meter of some sort. There is eight lines total including the top. At the top by the cap it says" Be whoever you want". From that top point going down it has the names of seven well known people: Mahatama Ghandi, Sigmund Freid, David Hasselhoff, Bradd Pitt, James Bond, John Rambo, and last but not least Superman. I believe this ad is made to have one simulate a drunken night. It's implying that from start to finish, that drinking Smirnoff Vodka, your night is bound to end up great. That throughout your night your gonna go through many different identites. I don't think the names are in any particular order because they do very from an actor, spy, to even a superhero. Smirnoff is simply trying to make drinking glamorous. Underlying the meaning of liquid courage, giving one the thought that they may look better, or can even fly. This ad, I would say is directed more towards males because the names of all the people happen to be male. A woman can still develop the same idea as a man would though as well. Another reason I believe it's intended for males is because it is a very simple ad. Nothing flashy, or extreme pops out.
